Circle time is one of my favorite parts of dance class.
As a teacher, it’s a time to connect with each one of my students, looking into the eyes and smiles of each one.
It’s a great time for sharing and getting to know one another, for learning names, introducing concepts, for dancing and discovering together.
In December as I prepared for the Top Dance Blog contest, I found great new blogs I didn’t even know existed. And while our little competition is a fun way to find them, I realized I wanted more time to connect with each one.
So an idea came to me.
I know, look out.
I want to have a little Circle Time with other bloggers. I want to share and get to know one another, learn names, introduce concepts, and discover together.
I also want readers to be able to do the same and benefit from the wealth of knowledge, ideas, and experiences that others have to give.
I do a lot of sharing via social networks but many really superb links never make it to Dance Advantage because they don’t have a place to “live”, so to speak.
Soooo, I decided I’m going to pitch a relatively broad, but hopefully useful and felicitous, Circle Time topic at the beginning of each month.
Included will be a form where writers can submit their work for inclusion in a Circle Time roundup post at the end of the month.
- You DO NOT have to write a brand new post if you already have an ideal post on the subject. However, I do ask that the post be less than a year old. (If it’s not, you could always polish, update, and republish an older one.)
- You DO NOT have to be a dance blogger to submit a post if it fits our topic and is appropriate for all ages.
- You DO NOT even have to link back here if you don’t want to. It’s super if you want to, but it’s not required.
As long as it remains manageable, I’ll post ALL the relevant links that come my way in our Circle Time roundup.
For the non-bloggers out there, I’ll try to post a question or two related to the topic at the bottom of our end-of-month roundup post. That way you can use our comment space to weigh in on the subject in short form if you like.
It’s a pretty simple concept, really. Just like Circle Time.
So, without further ado…
Our topic for January is: Setting Goals
Here’s the submission form:
[and the link if you can’t see or use it here]
Submissions are due by JANUARY 24
If you have questions, post them below in the comments.
Just know that your take on this particular topic can be as unique as you are!
