Quick Facts About Nichelle

• My name is Nichelle and I live in Houston, Texas, although I originally hail from Pennsylvania.

• I have been dancing since childhood, developing a deep passion for expressing thoughts and ideas through movement, crafting dances, and passing on my knowledge and love for the art of dance.
• I hold a bachelor’s degree in dance from Slippery Rock University (or Slimy Pebble as it’s fondly known).
• I have over 16 years of teaching experience and have been a dance instructor in dance studios, community programs, and at a major university.
• I continue to perform in contemporary dance ensembles.
• I am happily married (and have been for over 10 years) and I have one son under 2 years old.
• Since my son’s birth I have essentially been a stay-at-home mom, however I still dance and teach on a project by project basis, and I write about dance… a lot.
• I love to read fiction and am in a book club.
• My family is very musical. My mom’s a singer and my brother and I were both drum majors in high school. (I was also in the color guard and quite proud of it, thank you!)
• I love theatre and I have choreographed many musicals. My husband and I met doing community theatre, in fact. My favorite roles so far are Chava (Fiddler), Jacqueline (Murder on the Nile), and Nikki (Sweet Charity).
