Some Facts About Me:

  • My name is Nichelle – pronounced just like Michelle with an N.
  • I live in Houston, Texas. I hail from Pennsylvania. I only miss the snow on Christmas.
  • I have been dancing since childhood, developing a deep passion for expressing thoughts and ideas through movement, crafting dances, and passing on my knowledge and love for the art of dance.
  • I have one brother who is an actor/bartender living in Los Angeles.
  • I am happily married (and have been for over a decade)
  • My son born in ’07 and my daughter born in 2011 share the same birthdate.
  • I’m “still looking for the face I had before the world was made…
  • I perform in contemporary dance ensembles and projects in Houston.
  • Aside from the above and a bit of teaching here and there, since my son’s birth I have been a stay/work-at-home mom.
  • I write about dance… a lot.
  • I love to read fiction and am in a book club.
  • I hold a bachelor’s degree in dance from Slippery Rock University (or Slimy Pebble as it is affectionately known).
  • My family is musically inclined. My mom’s a trained singer and everyone else just loves to sing and play instruments. My brother and I were both drum majors in high school (I was also in the color guard).
  • I love theatre and I have choreographed many musicals. My husband and I met doing community theatre. My favorite roles so far are Chava (Fiddler), Jacqueline (Murder on the Nile), and Nikki (Sweet Charity).
  • I married a musical-loving, gadget-tinkering, sports-evading… meteorologist.
  • I love movies and film.
  • I love U2.
  • My favorite color is green.
  • I’m a Libra, in case you’re wondering.
